Whenever people asked me about Sagada, one of the places I always suggest is this Lemon Pie House in Sagada. The first time I taste it it was heaven! If you are of course fond of sour flavored food.

One thing I also noticed at the place was the ambience. Honestly, most of the restaurant in Sagada are like this. So chill and dainty and cozy. Perfect for procrastination it is! Not just the ambiance and the food that is great in this place but also the locals who served the food. They are very welcoming and accommodating.

Sagada Lemon Pie House is located at the south road part of the town. It was far from the busy up north where people flock always everyday. On my visit last year of May, we happen to check-in at one of homestay just beside it so we didn't have hard time going back and to the pie house.

If you will visit Sagada make sure to make a stop on this pie house! They are very cheap and affordable and taste really really good! You can also bring home some but make sure to inform them day before because they pretty much run out of stock every day! That's how good them pies are!

Igorot's burial tradition can be seen at Sagada's Hanging Coffins at Echo Valley. Coffines are suspended with primitive wires and ropes along limestone cliffs. The size of the coffin is smaller than the actual size of the dead, for them the way they enter this earth should be the same way they will leave the earth, thus the departed assume a fetal postion. These coffins survided 500 years of natural and man-made disasters.

According the guides, the position of the coffins signify how much the family cared for the deceased. The higher the coffin, the more valued the deceased was.

Twice I've been to Hanging Coffin and it still brings me this surreal feeling. Seeing something that meant so much for the Igorot, this Hanging Coffin is part of their culture and history. And us, visitor, should respect this place because this is holy for them.

Getting to this Hanging Coffin is part of the Echo Valley tour. Guide is required to every tourist spots of Sagada.

Tips
- Bring water and food during the tour
- Respect locals and other tourists
- Don't make too loud noise, this place is sacred for the locals
- Start early, sometimes, sun can be so deadly

I don't know where this trilogy started but this experience was dated last 2016. I know. Another late post. Honestly there are loads of series of climbs that I haven't posted yet but I'm starting to clear each of those and let me start again with this trilogy experience of mine.

It was that time when I wanted to know my limits. My good boy friend just got out of a relationship and needs unwinding and his off happens to be on weekdays so I grab him to join me on this climb. He didn't hesitate a bit. So on Wednesday of August 02, 2016 we get our ass on the way to Wawa Rodriguez in Rizal.

At the summit of Mt. Binacayan

MT. HAPUNANG BANOI

Since this is just a DIY basis we are only commuting and good thing we just live nearby Quezon City so getting to the jump off is not that hard. Though that time, transportation from Litex at Commonwealth is limited we still manage to get our ass before sunrise at the registration.

I already contacted Sir Arnel, one of the famous guide in Wawa to assist us and guide us on this one of a kind adventure. After registering and instructions and additional information we start off this crazy adventure.

I am still having a fear of heights during this climb. But regardless, I still went off and wants to know my limitation. If I wanted to continue climbing I should conquer this fear. Sir Arnel helps me with it and teach me techniques. He was so helpful along side with his cousin, Kuya Reneboy, the trail was so fun because of them, full laughter and asaran. haha!

MT. PAMITINAN

pagod na po ako sobra, sorry. HAHA!

Sample Itinerary

0430 Register | Prepare for trek
0500 Start of with Mt Binacayan
0700 ETA Summit | Photo Ops
0730 Descent
0830 ETA at the registration | Breakfast
0930 Start ascend to Mt. Hapunang Banoi
1130 ETA Summit | Photo Ops
1230 Descent
1330 Trail going to Mt Pamitinan
1430 ETA Summit | Photo Ops
1530 Descent
1630 Back at jump-off

Tips
- Start early. Especially if you are more than 5 in your group and are all first timers.
- Pack light. Bring only water and biscuits. I suggest leaving all of your belongings at the registration so you may climb quickly and hassle-free
- Prepare your mind and body for this climb. Though these three mountains are all for beginners, climbing these three in one day is pretty much exhausting.
- Climb on weekdays. Rizal has been one of the provinces that people go to every weekend since its the nearest from Manila. People flock here already so if you don't want a crowd, go on weekdays or better, start early as you can.
- Guide fee is 500 per mountain.

One of the tallest falls I've been in my life. Sorsogon clearly has a lot to offer esp if you are nature-seeker adventurer! Nagsipit Falls is located at Casiguran in Sorsogon. On my first visit here I wasn't able to bring change clothes so I wasn't able to dip in and experience its water. So I promise myself the next time I'll be here I'll be dipping in.

Going back to this falls makes it possible since I am always coming back to Lola Sayong Eco-Surf Camp and whenever I bring with me people to explore the Sorsogon, Nagsipit Falls has always been on the itinerary.

Getting here is not as hard as it seems. One may pass by this cold spring Orok where you will be trekking for almost twenty minutes to reach the falls. Guide is not required but if it's your first time you have to ask for one. The trail can be tricky. There are two trails going to the falls one is the long cut and the other is the short cut. Both suitable for beginners.

Entrance fee is 25 per head. It's 45 minutes drive from Sorsogon City. You can also dip in the cold spring where you can rent a table and grill and drink with your friends and family! Just be mindful that during Sundays families flock there. But no fret, you will still enjoy the place!

What makes this visit to this place different from the other church I visited? Trappist is a branch of Cictercian order of monks. This Trappist Monastery in Guimaras run by monks follow the rule of  St. Benedict and are best known for the extreme austerity.

It was raining hard the previous day of my stay in Western Visayas, specifically in Antique, but during my visit to Guimaras it became sunny but eventually rains when I'm on my way back to the port where I stop at this monastery. I wasn't ablet to explore much because of the weather and I didn't bring any umbrella with me. My tricycle driver slash tour guide happens to forgot his umbrella during our visit at the lighthouse.

The monks that lives here earn a living by selling souvenir items and processed foods such as jams, candies, and many more which are sold also at the grounds of the monastery.

The grounds is so peaceful and quiet. If only the rain didn't fall too bad that day I could have explored more this grounds.

The Trappist Monastery is located at Jordan. To reach the place, once alighted at the port of Guimaras, tourism office situated there can help you arrange a transportation going to the place. Its so good to visit new places we know nothing about!

Considered as one of Bicol's oldest churches, St. Joseph or most commonly known as Barcelona Church is a century-old church that was built by Spanish friar from the Franciscan order in 1874.

Using just the slabs of stones taken from the sea and put together using egg whites mixed with lime and coconut wine, it is perhaps the most well-preserved church in Sorsogon. Although it already undergone some restorations, the original walls including the bell tower are still intact.

If you want to visit Barcelona Church, if you are coming from Sorsogon City, ride a jeepney bound to Gubat. From there, you must take a jeepney to Barcelona.

St. Joseph Cathedral was one of the 26 colonial churches that was declared as National Cultural Treasures in 2001. Aside from natural wonders, Romblon has other landmarks that tourist can also explore. This church was considered as the oldest Roman Catholic church in the capital town of Romblon.

Every year, on the month of January, Romblon celebrates the traditional fiesta to honor their patron saint; St. Nino.
