Most commonly known as Bantay Church, The Saint Augustine Parish Church is a Roman Catholic church in Ilocos Sur. It was dedicated to St. Augustine of Hippo. Also known as the Shrine of Our Lady of Charity housing the miraculous image of Virgin Mary, crowned as the patrones of Ilocandia.

It is well known also because of the old historic belfry, Bantay Tower which served as a watchtower for pirates back in the Spanish colonial era. The name bantay which means to guard. It was one of the oldest church in the Ilocos Region.

Another spot in Ilocos Sur that people flock into. Just patience during weekends because it can be crowded. There's no entrance though but touring around on mobile has certain fees.

Baluarte can be added to your itinerary even if you are just visiting Vigan for a daytour. We did it once and it will not eat much of your time.

One Vigan's iconic tower. Bantay bell tower used to be a watchtower before being turned by a bell tower of the church nearby. And since then, it became a tourist spots not to locals but also who visits Vigan.

Though certain rule applies when you wish to enter and go to the top. You need to register first and 10 pesos fee is required. Be mindful of going up for it is so rustic and old already. Watch every step and make sure not to climb altogether at once. It can carry less people at a time. Below are some photos I took during our visit to Vigan.

Ain't food blogger but if you're looking for worthy food place in Vigan I'll definitely suggest Hidden Garden. Their food is the best and they servings is really big at affordable prices! The ambiance of the restaurant is peaceful and as the name suggests, it's garden style and if you roam around they have gardens full of different plants that they also sell at cheaper price!

One thing about this restaurant is that their facilities is clean esp their restrooms though some are paid ones but its all worth it. Don' hesitate to check this one out. They serve Vigan's finest bagnet on different kinds of dishes but their bagnet sisig is the best and their shakes are all sumptuous! You wouldn't want to miss their empanada too.
