Quick Trip At Hundred Islands

by - Friday, September 11, 2015

Hundred Islands is a national park in the Philippines. Theprotected area is located in the city of Alaminos, in the province of Pangasinan in northern Philippines. -wikipedia

After our overnight getaway at Bolinao, Pangasinan, my teacher suggests that since we are just in the vicinity why not take a quick trip at Hundred Islands. Since everyone were still hype and game we all said yes.

Hundred Islands is just an hour drive from Bolinao so in no time we are at the port were we are going to rent a boat to go island hopping on different islands. I just don't know exactly the price of the boat, it differs from how many are you in the group so it may vary from small to big boat. But all I know is that its almost Two Thousand for a group of 9.

My teacher did all the booking and viola we are riding a boat.

The place is really beautiful! I only sees Hundred Islands on post card way back elementary and highschool days. But now I am seeing it face to face. Since its called "Hundred Islands" we are going to its different islands. And no, we are not going over that hundreds. Not all island are allowed to go exploring of course, most of it are just a really really small form of islands with forest on it. Its like a giant umbrellas or mushrooms.

Only 3 islands have been developed by tourism: Governor's Island, Quezon Island, and Childrens Island. Not all islands have names and honestly some of it that we went to I forgot what its called like so forgive me.

Going to Hundred Islands is one of the many you can do with your family and friends. Its best to go there as a pack. We went there on the month of October and people are not crowded, probably still a wet season. I'm pretty sure its jampack during summer and holidays.
Some Activities that can be done in the Islands
  • Swimming
  • Kayaking or Paddling
  • Snorkeling
  • Photoshoots
  • Having picnics
  • Spelunking
  • Camping
  • Trekking

How to get there:

Since we get there by renting a van, there are other ways to get there. Board a bus going to Alaminos, Pangasinan in Cubao, try Victory Liner, I think price ranges from 300-400. Travel time is about 4hrs. Once at Alaminos, head to Lucap Terminal and ride a tricycle to Lucap wharf the jump-off to the hundred islands.

A quick trip to Hundred Islands, Alaminos, Pangasinan dated last October 5-7 2013 is an official entry to my 81 before 30 challenge.
