Liwliwa is one of those promising beach spot near metro. But we don't want to make a wrong impression on this post. I would like to emphasize that this is not a resort, its a community here.  Your trash are definitely not welcome here.



6-hour bus ride from Metro Manila and a laidback and quiet and a chill beach spot awaits you. I know many of us wants to getaway from the busy and polluted metro and visit some place where we can hide and just be ourselves or to be surrounded by nature and just inhale the good vibes and exhale those toxic the city inflicted us.






Hide In is one of those promising surf camp at Liwliwa or for most of us known as Liwa.

For just a small span of time, this place earns a name for its love of nature and by promoting green and eco-friendly accommodation for anyone who wants to experience peace, surf, outdoor cinema, booze, bonfire, jazz hop music, art, and most especially an encounter and a chance to live with our mother nature.

Sounds so much fairytale right? Like it isn't real? Some kind of telltale and voodoo and consipiracy and hopeful? But believe this kind of spot really exist, they do exist.







This community, Hide In, is compose of people with common denominator: love and respect for our mother nature and surfing.

So if you want to experience, or learn more about our surroundings and on how to love more and to save the earth in our own little way then you are very much welcome to experience what we are experiencing.

Let us all detoxify ourselves from all the bad vibes and just take a break from all the chaos and have fun once and for all.




With Hide In, they offer cheap rate but never jeopardizing the quality of service.

They have two rooms that are good for 1-4 pax. And their tents that are good for 1-6 pax as well. All these comes with a queen mattress and pillows an a fan, yeppp, tents with mattresses.

How To Get There?

Option 1

If you are coming from Manila, ride a bus going to Iba, Zambales or Sta. Cruz, Zambales and alight at San Felipe. Make sure to inform the ticketing employee that you are going to San Felipe. Fare is a lot much higher if you will not mention you are heading to San San Felipe only. Fare is 270. Travel time may take up to 4 hrs.

Victory liner has a regular trip to Iba, Zambales. Please check their site for updated time of the trip.

From San Felipe, there's a tricycle terminal at the bus stop and tell the driver you are heading to Liwliwa, Hide In. Fare is 60-100 pesos each. Travel time may take up to 5 minutes or more.

Option 2

If you want to arrive in Zambales as early as sunrise you may do so. Its just you have to cut trip.

From Manila, ride a bus going to Olongapo, fare is 212 (victory liner) travel time is 2 and half hours, from Olongapo catch a bustrip to Iba or Sta. Cruz and tell the kundoktor you are alighting at San Felipe. Fare is 87 pesos. Travel time is 2 hrs.

From San Felipe, there's a tricycle terminal at the bus stop and tell the driver you are heading to Liwliwa, Hide In. Fare is 60-100 pesos each. Travel time may take up to 5 minutes or more.


If the tricycle driver is not aware of the place you can always tell that it is located in front of Hide Out and beside The Glamp and Riverside.

Rooms - There are only two rooms available good for 1-4 pax only.
1500php - 1-2 pax
2000php - 3-4 pax

Comping -  These are tents, Three tents that are good for 1-4 pax only. 1 Tent good for 6 pax only.
1000php - 1-2 pax
1500php - 3-4 pax
2000php - 5-6 pax
*Rooms and Comping both comes with queen size mattress, pillows, and a fan)

Only common CRs are available. There's an outside shower too.

Kitchen and Bar

They offer silog meals, but always ask what's available beforehand. You can also ask for quotation for their meals.

As for the booze, they offer beers and cocktails now.

Souvenirs

They have hand crafted items: from Macrame wall hanger to macrame earrings and macrame plant hanger to hand crafted accessories such as necklaces and bracelets. Succulents and Cactuses are also available too.

Tour Around The Area

They also offer a visit to the nearest waterfalls. You can always asked at the bar if its available.

Surf Lesson

Absolutely. 400 per person for 1 hr. Surfboard and instructor included. But of course, it will always depend if there's a wave forecast.

I was too stoked after my Davao Region trip last November 2016 where I learned a lot about surfing. When I got home the next weekend me and my best friend Jec head to Liwliwa in  Zambales to try the surfing spot there. It was my bf's birthday month and we haven't seen each other over a year so I am that eager to finally make this trip to happen.




The first choice is to go to Crystal beach. But we are in tight budget that time and I really don't want to bring my own tent since I brought it on my backpacking in Davao Region and my back still hurts for that. So the idea is to stay in Crystal Beach since they offer glamping as their accommodation and I really want to try that. But, since we are just inquiring two nights before and the beach got a lot of tourists every weekend their glamping accommodation are all reserved.




Because of the bad news, I immediately search for alternative place in Zambales. That's where I found out about Liwliwa. Really, Ellie? Just now? Yep! Just now. But it was all good. The first choice is The Circle Hostel. But we didn't book online or contact them ahead.







Came Saturday and arriving at Liwliwa Zambales we learned that it is advisable to reserve online if you want to stay at The Circle Hostel especially during weekends for they have loads of guests during weekends. Can't blame them they're one of those hostel you need to try for yourself.




The receptionist at The Circle Hostel is kind enough to help us look for another accommodation. The one she refers is an airconditoned room few meters across their hostel. But I really prefer a rawness kind of accommodation that time and of course a cheaper one like that of the Circle Hostel.








We roam around the place since we arrive early morning and that we found out about this spot who manage by a siblings. Ate Donna who handles most of the transaction attend to our needs. We rent a tent to them and they set it up.




After setting it up. We change clothes and hit the beach and prepare for the wave. Jec was pretty confident that I should be the one teaching her basics but later on I insist  that she should get an instructor.









A brother of Ate Donna teach her the basic and after she gets the hang of it and pretty much get tired, Kuya (sorry I forgot the name) assist me on pushing me when there's a good wave. HAHA! Yepp, my sore arms is that bad for paddling.



We take our lunch and then doze off the entire afternoon inside our tent. When the sunset came we run to the beach and watch and admire it. That was one good sunset.



At night after eating light dinner, I kind of still feel tired over work, travel, and all that I just want to sleep the night off and I did. We met two campers too who set up their tent and hammock beside us.



There are still 2 remaining hours from the board we rented. So I said that if the wave permits we'll do one quick ride but it was flat. So me and Jec decided to leave early so we can go home early plus Jec's going home to Batangas and she's long way from home.







This quick getaway is one of my favorite on the list. All in one weekend that I love. Suf, camp, sleep, eat and just chill, plus the budget is too friendly the damage on our wallet is just less than 1500 pesos! Will do a travel guide for this.
