Let’s admit it. Social media esp facebook plays a role in our lives. Be it for past time or to show everyone how our life was or at the moment or what are our plans for tomorrow, or using it as a dump for all of our photos (even if they downgrade the quality), facebook has a lot of use for everyone. It became a way to connect with old friends and relatives that lives half-way across the world or to wherever we don’t know they now live or relatives we don’t even know existed: we find them on facebook.

As facebook became popular, it became one of the many source of being unhappy and comparison and to always have a life-check on how are you doing with your lives compare to others esp your friends or college classmates to High School and even from Elementary days. With total honesty, there is nothing wrong with us checking how are we now in our lives, but what’s make it so wrong is that, we tend to compare and feel ourselves so miserable esp if they are doing well than what we are now. We end up whining, we end up doing what they do even if its beyond our means, we go our extra way to make everything we have now gone to worse situation.

First of all, I am saying these stuff  and writing this because I’ve been there and happened to me and I know that this is happening to most of us. Second, I am writing this to tell you more of my story and how I handle it, of course not at all figure it out before and it is not easy, but to somehow give you an idea on how to get away from it and perhaps help you with what you are going through and yes to give you an inspiration that you are not at all helpless and not alone on this.

Let me tell you a bit about myself, this going to be shorten to give you a broad scenario on where am I going and where I am getting this from. I started my first year college at one of the top most state university in the country but did not finished my 2nd semester there and transfer to one of the known university at U-Belt and after 2 years in college I stop for a year because of financial problem and that’s the start of my anxiety and depression (I will later discuss this on other post) along with other factors such as ptsd that affects my mental health even more.

After a year, I got back and continue my college, during this time, my friends and classmates are now on their internship, I don’t see them at school anymore and have no time hanging out with them since we have different time schedule. I only have news from them through social media and that is facebook. Facebook at that time is gaining popularity because of so much features and games as well.

Through facebook, I see their posts and photos and how are they enjoying their life outside school and doing well on their internship and all that. And I am here, stuck at school, attending same class they used to attend year before. Me stuck at school with new faces I haven’t seen before and doesn’t know one single soul. It feels more degrading and I really lost the will to continue but end up doing the same routine everyday just to continue with my life. And everyday I see posts from people I used to know or hang out with they are doing well with their life.

I focused on comparing my life with them. I feel much miserable. I started blaming my Parents, I started hating myself, cutting myself whenever I feel so down, my grades are failing, I started to lose hope and question everything in my life, I have no purpose. I feel I have no purpose. I hate my course, I just hate everything. My temper gone worse and I easily got annoyed and the list goes on.

I don’ t know when it started, but I did, I did notice that my temper and my mood gone worst whenever I see  a post and started comparing mine to them, I decided out of the blue to deactivate from facebook and it became a habit to distance myself from it whenever I feel I taking more time using it and browsing my feed. I deactivate. Yes, just like that. And by doing so, it changes a lot about my life.

I started to focus on myself even more rather than watching what others are doing in their life, started to focus on what I love to do rather than what others are into now. It started for a week then months, then when I feel I already composed myself, I got back online.

I never said that it will totally gone for good but at some point it helps. And it really helps me a lot. Being away from facebook makes me realize more about myself and how to handle things. I have more time focusing on my thoughts alone and give importance to it and just analyzing myself and what I want to do. Of course, there are times that I still compare myself with their achievements, that my thoughts still fly to the past, that maybe if I didn’t stop maybe I am like them now, earning money, eating whatever I craved for, visiting places I wanted to see and so on, but that’s not the life given to me. I cannot go back to the past anymore and what I have now is the present I have and I realized I just have to live with it.

Whenever I feel down and started comparing myself again and back at that stage again I always deactivate. Then I learned about unfollowing people and pages, then I did that. I put notification with people only so dearest to me. I follow pages that makes me smile and laugh. I take control. I think that’s really the term and the key to it. Take control. You have to take control of your life and not the other way around. Don’t let them control you especially your thoughts and mood. You can mute them, you can sort what you want to see. Take control of your life and you will definitely see changes.

I know there are people who are not drawn so much to facebook and I deeply admire that, but for those who became so attached to facebook that it eats their everyday life and think that there’s no hope for them, think again, there’s always a solution for everything.

Just remember these:

Take control. Filter and sort what you want to see. You can choose if you want to see the bad or the good. Inspirational or not. Change the way you think, its either those posts is to help you get better and feel worst about your situation.

--------------------------------------------------

1. She’s always MIA. Why? Because she is out there living her life. It is either she is summiting a mountain or catching some waves or probably somewhere else exploring less traveled places. She don’t stay in one place. She is not always home. She’s always on the move. Her weekend is spontaneous and may change depending on her mood. And if you can’t keep up on her busy schedule maybe you aren’t ready for it.

2. She has already plotted her plans for the next two years of her life and clearly you are not part of it. (Well, not yet, maybe you have to prove whether you are worthy to be in it) Next two years meaning that every weekend on every month she has a plan for it. But it may still change, well again, depending on her mood. You can’t just invite her out for a dinner or watch a movie because aside from the fact that she hates that and that she can do that herself she already has a plan for that specific date. She probably can't make it on your most special day or whatsoever.

3. Her life is messy and her things untidy. Or is it the same? She really don’t care about how she looks. Her cap, bandana, her shorts, camera, and oversized shirts is all she need and she’s good to go. She probably wears that shirt for consecutive three-day straight now while she’s on the road and she doesn’t care. Her bag is full of unwashed clothes and smelly socks and she don’t care.

4. She will keep you waiting and that kind of sucks right? She already made a solo plane booking on some isolated islands and no returning ticket yet for she don’t know whether she wanted to come home soon or stay a little longer.

5. She is independent and she don’t need you. She’s been travelling for over a year now on her own and face obstacle on the road on her own and overcomes it on her own. ON HER OWN. She don’t need rescuing not from you or anyone else. She can slay the dragon herself.

6. She has her own definition of fancy date so be careful. Her definition of a fancy date is either under the starry sky while lying on the sand on her favorite surf spot or at the top of any mountain while watching the clouds passes by. But date means, a date with herself.

7. She don’t have enough time for you. You can’t just call or text or message her all the time. She is busy taking photos, running some trail, and of course catching a wave.  She won’t reply immediately. She hates bugging with some clingy guy who can’t respect her time.

8. On her free time, she’s on the internet researching for new places to explore. She uses her spare time to make her itinerary for her next trip and to the other. Bothering her on times like this will put you to hell.

9. She falls in love immediately with the people or person she met on the road because of their story and their culture and how they live their lives. It doesn't mean she isn't loyal. She just craves for something very unusual.

10. She is eccentric and too crazy for you to handle. There is more to adventure and discovery. She craves and values and enjoys her freedom, personal space and time. She hates her day-job because she thinks it is too normal. She may change her mind over a thousand times because she knows there are a thousand possible options out there and that’s beyond crazy because she does everything she can to break away from routine.

11. She’s too far from settling down. Yes, she thinks of a family with a baby but it scares her. Because she knows she can’t settle on one place for longer time. She wants to live on the road, buy some truck or used buses and turn it to her customized home. She wanderlust and normal people can’t and will never understand that. She is a wanderer. She wanders and wanders and no one knows not even herself when and how it will end.

So, as you have noticed on my last outfit post that I've cut my hair short. Its mot really my intention to have it "that" short. My hair was really damaged from bleaching and consecutive perming. I tried different treatment but no luck.

I had cut that short but the ends are still damage so after my out of town trip I decided to trim it. But the lady who did cut my hair had it that short. I didn't like it but as time pass by I had no choice right but to accept it hahaha anyway some of my friends says I look mature some says I look younger so I really didn't know.

Anyway, what do you think guys? Does it fit me? :))) feel free to leave a comment! I'll probably make a post about my different hair transformations for the past years, I've got loads. Really.

Loves,

I don't know what am I thinking right now why I'm still and continuing typing every words here to think that it might slip on to someone who will have an idea whom I'm talking about. It's just I need this to express myself and what I'm feeling right now. I'm all distorted and shattered at the moment. Maybe not completely but I feel something missing something lacking. Or maybe I'm only just looking for what is lacking in my life now that I fail to recognize things existed and things I have.

There is this guy and I won't mention his name nor where I met him and anything about him. Basta there is this guy that I adore. And I think this feeling is getting somewhere no this is not getting somewhere because I already have someone with me. Or least I know we're still together though, but let's not focus on that. So don't just me.

I don't know where and when does it start but it grows deeply everyday and everytime I see him. I took precautions I really did but things went out of control and I don't know what to do anymore. I know he doesn't want me and I hope he will not because it will be as frustrating as what it is now.

I know this post is shattered and no definite path but all I know he saves my heart from heartache everytime I feel pain from the relationship I'm in now.

I'm 22 years old and I'm not yet a graduate. No, I'm not proud of it, but I want to make the most out of it. I'm continuing my study at FEU-East Asia College under the course of BSIT, which happens to be not my choice, but not really the reason why I'm not yet done with my degree, oh well maybe 20% of the reason.

I'm still in 3rd Year College, and my past year since I stop were dull and unproductive, before the year ends last year (2010) I make a list of things that I want to do and fulfill for the coming year (2011).

I love adventures, breathtaking experience, and extreme sports. I also love children and doing some charity works. I enjoy socializing with other people especially to strangers. Ironic? No. I just can;t explain the great feeling when you're in a new crowd, different from you used to be but a crowd with same interest and goal.

So I made this list to keep me on the go.

1. Join a Marathon.
2. Join a Fun Run.
3. Be involved in a charity work: for children or Elders.
4. Tree Planting.
5. Mother Earth related: cleaning drive.
6. Be part of feeding Program.
7. Gawad kalinga.
8. Volunteer in any mission.

I want the satisfying and fulfilling feeling. I wanted to feel that. I wanted to do something where my heart really is. And I'm determined to do this goal this year. I hope someone here, who will have read my blog can help me and introduce me to some volunteer group or any activity/program that in need of people interested in mission, I'm very much into it now. Just email me or reply on this post. :)

I know, do things one at a time. But if your heart is there and that is really your passion, we can do anything with God who strengthens us. :))
