Chasing Adventures: Lumiang Cave, Sagada

by - Wednesday, April 18, 2018

Please don't go home from Sagada without trying their caving. Though extra precaution is needed when you plan on doing this because it's really dangerous and be sure your family knows you are doing this. Nope, I am not scaring anyone, but accidents are always around the corner and who knows right? It's better to be safe than sorry, as cliche as it is, it's always right.

Caving is one of the best adventure out there with mother nature. Its different with others because here you will discover hidden history that's preserved in time. Too bad, sometimes, or should I say most of the time ruined by some of the tourists. Again, let's preserve our mother nature.

There are a lot of beautiful rock formations you can see inside Lumiang Cave, there are also mini pools that you can go around and swim, just of course, again, be very careful because it can be really slippery, my friend slide all the way down and had sprain on her knee. Though most of them has ropes, but still, be very careful and always watch your steps.

You may want to bring flashlights too because it is really pitch black inside. Though guides always bring one, its best if you have your own. Let's not rely everything to our guides. And speaking of guides, guide is required when caving. 500 pesos for a group of 5.

There are a lot of trails inside and sometimes it can be very crowded. Just follow what your guide will tell you to avoid accidents. There are some routes required skills but again, there is your guide to assist you.

Some parts of the cave has funny names so you better listen attentively to your guides as they explain it to you. There are some wonders that you can only see inside the cave so make sure to pay attention

Taking of pictures with flash is allowed so make sure to bring one if you want to document your trip. You may wear shoes but I suggest wearing sleepers, after all, there are some parts inside the cave that you need to remove your slippers and go barefoot.

Exploring Lumiang cave can eat up half of your day if you are five in your group and may take whole day if you are too many and they manage the time inside for each group so that it will not be crowded and of course to avoid accidents. Make sure to coordinate with your guide on the best time to visit it.
