My second favorite hero is Juan Luna. So the excitement on visiting their museum in Ilocos Norte is at its peak. Situated in Barangay Garreta in Badoc, Ilocos Norte used to be the house of the Luna's. It was caught by fire in 1861 after the family has moved to Manila. The house was given up the territory to the government in the year 1954 and completely restored by the National Historical Institute and the Department of Public Works and Highways in 1977.
During our visit at Ilocos Norte we stop by here on our way home back to Manila. Good thing it was open at that time. They are open during Tuesdays - Sundays only from 8 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon.
The museums has six galleries namely: Gallery 1: Life and Career of Juan Luna, Gallery 2: Juan’s Studio in Paris, Gallery 3: Life and Career of Antonio Luna, Gallery 4: The Luna Home in the 19th Century, Gallery 5: Antonio’s Letter to Conchita Castillo, and Gallery 6: Trench Warfare. The Museum also has an e-learning room for online lessons on Philippine history.
